Students are encouraged to make a commitment to Open Door, and continue volunteering after completing the needed service hours.

Students keep track of their own hours.  A form letter is provided to verify hours.

Reference letters are only provided for students who complete 15+ hours over five or more shifts.  One week's notice required to provide a reference letter.

Donations do not count towards service hours unless the student prepares a plan and contacts Open Door in advance. 

 A maximum of two hours is allowed for a standard drive.
