About Us
Freehold's Lifeline: Fighting Hunger, Fueling Hope
Since 1987, Freehold Area Open Door has been a trusted resource for individuals and families facing hardship in our community. What began as a grassroots, interfaith effort has grown into a comprehensive multi-service agency dedicated to addressing food insecurity, housing challenges, and educational support with compassion and dignity.
Our programs include a client-choice food pantry, rental and utility assistance, after-school enrichment, college scholarships, and holiday food and gift distributions. These vital services are made possible through the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and community partners.
To date, we have served more than 350,000 people, and while we’re proud of that impact, we know our work is far from finished. The growing demand for help makes it clear: we must continue to expand our reach and deliver support more efficiently than ever before.
Together, with our supporters, we’re committed to creating a stronger, more resilient community, where every neighbor has access to food, shelter, opportunity, and hope.
